There are many reasons why pc errors occur. An error may happen at boot up, at start-up, when opening a program, in the middle of an application process or even while the computer is not doing anything.

Boot up errors

PC errors during system boot up are sometimes caused by erroneous BIOS configuration. It may also be caused by defective hardware and loose connections. BIOS problems are solved easily by changing BIOS settings and configuration. Make sure that the person changing the BIOS set-up knows what he is doing or else more problems may pop up. To enter the Bios Set-up just press DEL or F2 during the boot up process.

Start up errors

Start-up errors are caused by errors in the operating system. There are many sources of errors in the operating system that may cause a start-up error. There maybe problems in computer hardware that is causing trouble in the system. Hardware failure and loose connections can prevent windows from starting. It may be necessary to change the hardware or upgrade the driver. Sometimes checking and fixing the cables and connections will help. A system restore may also be needed when very serious problems happens that prevents windows from starting up. You can start System Restore from Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

System Errors

There are times when the computer freezes during its operation that are not caused by program or application. This is caused by system errors. System errors may also prevent programs from starting up. These errors are sometimes caused by erroneous entries in the system configuration. Changing the configuration will solve the problem. Virus and malwares may also cause serious system errors. If this is the case, a virus scan should be done immediately before virus infection becomes worse.

Registry errors

The most probable cause is an erroneous registry entry. Registry errors cause many PC errors, which includes errors during the start-up problems. This usually happens when changes are made in the computer settings that affect a registry entry. Uninstalling application sometimes leaves entries that are causing serious errors in the registry. This problem can be solved by making necessary changes in the registry or system configuration. A registry cleaner is needed for the process. Changing registry entry manually poses a great deal of risk. It is far better to use a registry cleaner to fix registry errors safely and more efficiently.

Program errors

Some errors show up when the program is starting up or already running. These errors may also be cause by wrong registry entry. There may be a crucial update that is needed to run the program properly. Downloading the necessary update and installing it may solve the problem. Sometimes, it would be better if the program is uninstalled and then installed again before patching or updating. Sometimes a program will not function normally if there is a missing or corrupted file. To solve this problem you may need to install the program again. Some programs have repair feature. If this is the case then you don’t need to install the program completely, just repair errors and the program will run properly again.
